The CID Awards celebrate creativity and technical know-how in the use of tile and stone in residential and commercial projects. These materials offer designers, architects, installers and contractors endless and timeless design styles to choose from to create character and beauty for their residential and commercial projects.

Eligibility

The 2013 CID Awards competitions are open to architects, designers, builders, contractors, distributors, retailers, installers and other professionals whose project demonstrate design and installation excellence in residential and commercial projects, giving special recognition to stunning stone and tile. 
To be eligible:

  • Projects must have been completed within the past two (2) years (Jan 2011 – Dec 2012)
  • Projects can be located within or outside North America
  • Firms must be from North America
  • Firms outside North America are eligible for awards in the international category
  • Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged.  Please fill out a separate form for each entry.

 

How to Enter (now closed)

Please submit an entry form with a business card attached, 500-word project narrative, materials form and minimum four (4) 8”x10” photographs of project (both electronic files on CD and printed pictures are required; as are digital scans of ALL printed materials).

In effort to keep judging totally anonymous, please leave out any mention of the designer, installer and others involved with the project in the narrative. The only place the projects should be identified are on the initial Entry Form with your business card.

Criteria

Projects will be judged and awarded separately on technical installation and design. Projects will be judged on their levels of creativity, craftsmanship, and outstanding use of materials and achievement in the use of tile or stone within the residential and commercial project categories. One Grand Prize winner for design and installation for each category will be chosen. Of particular interest are projects that demonstrate an original or unusual use of materials, incorporate an innovative technology, reflect installation excellence or successfully combine aesthetics with function in a unique and interesting way.

 

Judges

An independent panel of judges for all award categories will evaluate entries using a blind format based on Excellence in Execution + Installation, Inspiring + Original Use and Overall Design + Purpose.

 

Prize

The installer and designer of the Grand Prize winning project will receive $1,000 each. Additional cash prizes in residential, commercial and international categories will be awarded as follows:

 

Residential ($500 each)

CID Awards Reception & Ceremony

Winners must attend the CID Awards Reception & Ceremony on Monday, April 29 at 5:30 PM at Coverings in Atlanta, GA. If winners are unable to attend, the project will be disqualified and a new winner will be awarded.
*International category entrants are encouraged to attend but attendance is not mandatory.
