Coverings, the preeminent event for the ceramic tile and natural stone industry in North America, announced the winners of its 2023 Best Booth Awards today. After weeks of counting down, we’re thrilled that Coverings — the most important event of the year for the tile and stone industry — is finally here! Next week, industry professionals, from manufacturers and distributors to architects and designers, will gather in Orlando. As in previous years, attendees will watch presentations to learn about new industry standards and innovations. But our favorite part of the event is seeing all the new products on display!

At the 2023 edition of Coverings, the largest international ceramic tile event in North America, over 60 premier Italian brands showcased their latest tile and installation products to the market in the Ceramics of Italy Pavilion. Demonstrating the versatility and beauty of Italian tile, the following trends summarize this season’s top trends in color, design and application.

With a new year comes new color prediction trends that can dictate everything from interior decor to fashion and technology. But these color trends represent much more than that, giving us a lens into the feelings that resonate most with society today. For example, the 2022 colors of the year were byproducts of the pandemic and our increasing need to get out of the house and reconnect with nature, a trend known as biophilia. As a result, 2022 saw many earth tones and designs that remind us of the outdoors.

This year’s edition of Cersaie proved to be a pivotal one. On top of the show celebrating its 40th anniversary and the milestones the industry has achieved along the way, exhibitors also signaled the dawn of an exciting new era. Tile products were imbued with a holistic sense of inventiveness: color and pattern were bolstered by impressive surface technologies from extra soft finishes with high slip resistance to glossy, matte effects.

2022 is a wrap. And once again, we have the pleasure of looking back on the tile tips and trends we’ve covered over the last year. As in years past, we’ve shared ideas on using tile in every room of the house. But one room stands out this year for being of particular interest to designers and homeowners alike: the bathroom

It’s our third week celebrating National Tile Day and counting down to Coverings. This is a long-time favorite, so we’ll cut right to the chase: Our third tile trend for 2023 is cemented looks. If you’re getting deja vu, it’s because the cement-look tile was trending in 2020 as well. But while 2020’s trend focused on the industrial-chic vibe of cement looks, 2023 is all about the versatility of cement looks.

Have vertical tiles caught your eye? Whether you’re wondering what this new trend is or looking for specific design ideas to install in your home, we have everything you need to know about vertical tiles right here.

Penn Station, long removed from its glory days in the first half of the 20th century, had become notorious for all the wrong reasons. A controversial demolition in 1963 stripped the building of its grandeur and beauty. Gone was the grand concourse designed in the Beaux-Arts style with its illuminous, high-arched windows. In its place sat a windowless, featureless hub, denounced by critics as a failure of form and function. But in the 1990s, a voice from the station’s past would lead the charge to breathe new life into the forgotten landmark.

A new year means new trends, and 2023 is already off to a strong start! From sustainability and safety to durability and style, this year’s top 10 trends manifest every imaginable merit of tile. The following trends were gathered and forecasted by Ceramics of ItalyTile Council of North America, and Tile of Spain – the three leading international tile associations and sponsors of Coverings – and highlight the most popular, on-trend styles from the global marketplace.
