We’re thrilled to showcase the many uses of tile for exterior applications in the Outdoor Oasis at Coverings 2024. But, you may ask: Why Tile?
Due to its durability, ceramic tile is the right choice for exterior applications. Ceramic tile surfaces, indoor or outdoor, will not fade over time, like other flooring materials, due to color-leaching UV rays from the sun.
Ceramic tile can also handle all temperatures and climates, as it has the ability to withstand freeze-thaw cycles and will not buckle, or warp with temperature changes. Plus. ceramic tile’s slip resistant options make it ideal for things like outdoor walkways, patios and pool decks.
Open-concept transitional spaces are a trending way to bridge outdoor and indoor spaces, but they also require materials that can excel both inside and out. Ceramic tile’s design versatility, durability, and functionality make it an ideal indoor-outdoor material.
Join Gianna Vallefuoco (artist, tile contractor, mindfulness teacher) with Vallefuoco Contractors and Ron Nash with LATICRETE as they lead short mindfulness workshops in the Outdoor Oasis. These mindfulness sessions are appropriate for all, with unique topics including “”Intro to Mind Fitness”, “Mindful Leadership”, Setting Up a Mindfulness Practice” and much more. Showgoers attending these short, impactful demonstrations will learn how to better deal with stress on the job site, discover how breathing can help deescalate heated moments, and learn how to use a growth-focused mindset to lead in their organization.
Stop by The Covering Lounge to learn about the health advantages and sustainable properties of ceramic tile. Enhance your next project as you learn how ceramic tile is made from natural ingredients and free from toxic chemicals as well as the most eco-friendly flooring option available.
The history of ceramic tile extends to nearly every culture of the world. Social, political, and economic forces have influenced tile over the centuries, and in turn, tile has lent its versatile style and functionality to our greatest historical buildings and most treasured icons. The fact that numerous early tile constructions still exist is a testament to ceramic tile’s durability. To illustrate the Timeless Luxury tenet in The Coverings Lounge, three bars and tables generously provided by members from Ceramics of Italy, Tile Council or North America, and Tile of Spain will be showcased and used during the daily happy hours.
