The Extension House Kitchen — Where History Meets the Future
At I.C.E. House’s year-40 moment — a narrative snapshot in Farrell’s long-term vision — Extension House is designed to function as an independent three-bedroom home or as two smaller residences. At its heart is a timeless, elegant kitchen within the great room, where an open plan and integrated dining create an inviting gathering place for every generation.
This kitchen embraces contemporary refinement against an ancient backdrop, with views stretching toward a centuries-old windmill and historic vineyards beyond. Layers of materiality — from tactile tile to ultra-compact porcelain surfaces and bespoke lighting — create a space that feels both rooted and forward-looking.
Metamor tile from Emser Tile establishes a richly textured foundation, paired with Dekton Laurent by Cosentino for a dramatic yet enduring countertop surface. Litokol’s Arenaria grout, supplied by The Tile Doctor, thoughtfully unites the metallic patina of the tile with the copper veining within the Dekton — a subtle detail that exemplifies the precision behind the design.
Sculptural lighting from Kalco adds depth and presence overhead, while furnishings from Jennifer Farrell’s Global Views collection introduce warmth and a curated sensibility. A black granite composite sink from GROHE integrates seamlessly into the ebony Dekton surface, paired with a brushed brass GROHE kitchen faucet that echoes bespoke antique brass switches and sockets by Corston. Completing the space, Lazzara black leather and brass drawer pulls from Signature Hardware provide a tactile, jewelry-like finish.
The Extension House kitchen is a study in livable luxury — a space designed to invite gathering, conversation, and connection over decades, framed by the ever-changing vineyard landscape beyond.
Entering Center House — Romance, Old Meets New
At the heart of I.C.E. House sits Center House, the largest and most anchored of the three structures — transformed from a former cattle barn into a luminous living environment.
Upon entry, visitors are greeted by a soaring two-story space that bridges past and present. Ancient limestone walls, restored structural posts, and a modern glass-encased wine cellar anchor the room with visual poetry. Carefully curated lighting and custom elements — including sculptural lightwork from Kalco inspired by natural forms — reflect both the property’s context and Farrell’s design ethos. Lighting throughout the space is controlled by elegant Corston antique brass dimmer switches, reading like tailored jewelry against centuries-old stone.
The entry flows effortlessly into an elegant wine lounge adjacent to the entertainer’s kitchen, serving equally as a welcoming arrival moment and a destination for conviviality. Here, the boundaries between living, dining, and hospitality blur — a nod to the rhythm of French life.
Furnishings, rugs, and décor from Jennifer Farrell for Global Views layer comfort and refinement, while a dramatic two-story custom wallpaper mural introduces historic romance and visual intrigue. Discreet doors disappear seamlessly into the mural, revealed only by the subtle gleam of bespoke Signature Hardware door handles — one of many luxury brands thoughtfully curated and offered through Ferguson Home.
