2026 CID Award Winner Spotlight: Residential Ceramic Tile Installation

Tile Artistry In The West Hills Photo 1

At Coverings 2026, we honored 25 outstanding projects that demonstrated spectacular craftsmanship and creativity in the use of tile and stone. This week we’re spotlighting the 2026 CID Award winner for Residential Ceramic Tile Installation.

Project: Tile Artistry In The West Hills
Installer: Columbia River Tile and Stone Inc
Location: Portland, Oregon, USA

Our next project showcases 5 bathrooms, 3 fireplaces, a wine room, a sauna, a dog wash, and an art studio – all under one roof. Our winner for Residential Ceramic Tile Installation is Columbia River Tile & Stone with their project “Tile Artistry in the West Hills”. This 1920s Colonial didn’t just get updated — it got transformed, room by room, tile by tile. Handmade ceramics, custom unglazed porcelain mosaics, slim brick herringbone, glazed relief details, quarry tile — each space with its own identity, all of it coherent. Heated floors flowed throughout. Flood-tested shower beds. Custom 1/8″ mosaics with zero margin for error. Every layout was planned to land a full tile exactly where the eye falls first. This is what it looks like when a century-old home gets the craftsmanship it always deserved.
