At Coverings 2026, we honored 25 outstanding projects that demonstrated spectacular craftsmanship and creativity in the use of tile and stone. This week we’re spotlighting the 2026 CID Award winner for Commercial Ceramic Tile Installation.

92,000 square feet. 500 guestrooms. 58 showers. 8 locker rooms. Rooftop bars. Dining. Retail. And almost no right angles in sight. David Allen Company tackled one of the most technically-demanding tile installations in hospitality — curved walls, radiused patterns, diagonal surfaces, and prefabricated POD (pod) bathrooms requiring custom-built solutions at every turn. Large-format porcelain, gauged panels, custom mosaics, and stack stone — were all installed on an accelerated five-month schedule with double shifts through the holidays. Every vein was aligned. Every seam was considered. Every mosaic was stenciled to perfection. The result is a celestial hotel experience where the craftsmanship is everywhere.
