Cote Korean Steakhouse at The Venetian Photo 1

At Coverings 2026, we honored 25 outstanding projects that demonstrated spectacular craftsmanship and creativity in the use of tile and stone. This week we’re spotlighting the 2026 CID Award winner for Commercial Stone Design.

Project: Cote Korean Steakhouse at The Venetian
Installer: M. Teixeira Soapstone
Location: Miami, Florida, USA

Our winner for Commercial Stone Design is the Cote Korean Steakhouse at The Venetian by M. Teixeria Soapstone. When fire meets stone, you need a material that can take the heat — literally. M. Teixeira Soapstone delivered exactly that for Cote Korean Steakhouse. Stormy Black and Rainforest Green soapstone were custom fabricated into everything from live-fire grill tables and fluted bar facades to hand-carved logo door pulls. Eighteen months of design development. CNC milling, diamond-edge profiling, precision waterjet cutting. Every piece dry-fitted, finished, and sealed before a single tile hit the floor. This project continues M. Teixeira’s longstanding collaboration with Gracious Hospitality Management, following installations in NYC, Miami, and Singapore.
