At Coverings 2026, we honored 25 outstanding projects that demonstrated spectacular craftsmanship and creativity in the use of tile and stone. This week we’re spotlighting the 2026 CID Award winner for Residential Stone Installation.
Project: Private Orlando Estate with Ventilated Limestone Facade
Installer: Stone Tile Group
Location: Orlando, Florida, USA
Our winner for Residential Stone Installation, the Stone Tile Group’s Private Orlando Estate with Ventilated Limestone Facade featured project from one quarry and 53 containers of hand-selected Portuguese Moca Fossil limestone. It is a residential façade unlike anything Central Florida has seen before. To guarantee perfect consistency, raw blocks were sourced personally, straight from a single layer of a Portuguese quarry. Custom stainless-steel brackets, kerf clips, and concealed anchors were purpose-engineered for every stone condition. Cranes lifted multi-piece cornice assemblies over a three-story roofline to reach the rear elevation. Twenty-four months of installation on a lot so tight it demanded a custom-built gantry crane system just to maneuver. This is where artisan fabrication meets structural engineering — and the result is a home that looks like it was carved from the earth itself.
