We’re proud to announce that Alena Capra will be back this year as the Coverings 2016 Industry Ambassador!
In this role, she’ll continue to act as liaison to the local industries related to tile and stone, as well as with the media. With a keen eye for tile and stone, Alena brings more than 12 years of experience as a residential designer to her role, and is accredited through the National Kitchen and Bath Association as a Certified Kitchen Designer and Certified Bath Designer. We touched base with Alena to see how she’s preparing for Coverings 2016, and what she’s looking forward to in Chicago:
It seems like the past year has gone by so fast, and I’m excited that it’s time to start thinking about all the new things we’ll see at this year’s Coverings show in Chicago!
Last month, I spent a few days in beautiful Savannah, Georgia for the Total Solutions Plus conference. I was able to reconnect with many industry friends and hear some of this year’s inspiring keynote speakers. I even had the distinct honor of introducing author and speaker, Eric Chester. Eric gave a wonderful talk about how companies and employers can “ignite passion in their people without burning them out.” As a business owner myself, I took note on his tips for creating a culture that inspires everyone inside an organization, and I even purchased his book, “On Fire at Work!” During the show, I also had the opportunity to stop by many of the booths and tabletops, see new products, and get excited about all that we can look forward to at Coverings in Chicago this spring.
I’m really looking forward to visiting Chicago in 2016. It’s the perfect location for Coverings with its rich history in architecture, and there is just so much to see! Even though it’s only November, I’ve already started preparing for this year’s show. I’ve been using social media to check out trends from Cersaie show and have spent a lot of time at various tile showrooms that I work with in South Florida, checking out what’s new for my projects. I can’t wait to get back to the beautiful city of Chicago in April!
