Coverings, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) and our vendor partners are closely monitoring policy changes from the CDC, local government, state, and federal mandates. Below are a few ways we are considering your safety. As the situation continues to evolve, guidelines and procedures will be updated accordingly, and these tactics are subject to change.
Sanitation and Cleaning Protocols
The OCCC uses cleaning products and protocols which meet EPA guidelines and are approved for use and effective against viruses, bacteria, and other airborne pathogens. The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces.
There will be multiple registration stations at the OCCC and satellite registration stations at select hotels. Touchless kiosks will be utilized for badge pick up.
First Aid/Medical Response
Coverings will provide onsite First Aid Stations and a designated quarantine area. Participants will be asked not to attend if they are feeling unwell, and the event staff will follow local health authority guidance on detecting and managing anyone who displays symptoms of COVID-19.
Personal Protective Equipment
Masks will be recommended in adherence to state or local regulations and guidance. Appropriate masks and gloves will be worn by all OCCC employees based on their role and responsibilities and in adherence to state or local regulations and guidance.
Hand sanitizer dispensers, touchless whenever possible, will be placed throughout the convention center.
Social distancing will be encouraged through signage and floor decals. Table rounds, chairs, seating areas and other physical layouts will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing.
Food and Beverage
Coverings will work with venue partners to employ the highest standard of food safety. For any events or food distribution areas, social distancing will be maintained through the use of floor markings and relevant signage.
GBAC STAR™ Accreditation
The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) has received its Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation on outbreak prevention, response and recovery. Recognized as the gold standard of safe venues, the OCCC is one of the largest venues in the nation to receive the GBAC STAR™ accreditation.
