(ORLANDO, FL–APRIL 23, 2012)–There was plenty of wow factor plus creative, inspiring ideas imparted among the four Coverings 2012 exhibitors who were named to receive this year’s Best in Show booth awards. The judges conferred the honors during day three of the four-day annual tile and stone conference at the Orange County Convention Center.
Cerdomus received the Overall Best in Show title, winning with a space that enveloped visitors in the drama of black and was supercharged with a hip, club-like ambiance. Its hub was a working lounge of dozens of modern white club chairs where visitors and company representatives could conduct their business in a comfortable, casual setting. The reflective qualities of the brand’s own flooring added to the energy created by the vibrant contrast between the black and white theme. Amid this scene, traditional racks were used for showing the product options. Together with a zone of private conference rooms flanking one wall, the message of this booth was, ‘Let’s get down to business.’
For the third consecutive year, Porcelanite/Lamosa was wearing a Best Booth ribbon. This time around the company switched up its look to incorporate row-upon-row of vignette settings to show off its latest introductions while suggesting application ideas. Hospitality in the space was incorporated along with work areas for the sales team to sit and meet with customers.
Tau also capped its Coverings appearance with a win. The company made a statement in simplicity with an open all-access construction. The design provided the perfect setting for its new onyx lookalike porcelain, Onice.
Proving that good things come in small packages, Lowitz & Company was the fourth honoree, acknowledged as being the small space winner but with giant impact. Designed as if working out of a packing crate, the wood and fiberboard walls provided a smart backdrop for the neutral palette of the company’s handmade collections.
