Saturday, February 23 marks the third annual National Tile Day – a day to honor the beauty, durability and versatility of tile. Throughout the day, Coverings will showcase inspiring images of tile products and applications on its social media channels – including previews of products that will be unveiled at Coverings 2019.
Building on the tile industry’s “Why Tile?” initiative, National Tile Day champions the merits of tile that make it one of the most practical building materials —durability and sustainability; resiliency; versatility in use; ease of upkeep and maintenance; energy efficiency and health benefits, including no volatile organic compounds. These factors allow designers to utilize tile in its many forms to create unique and stunning installations that last a lifetime.
To celebrate National Tile Day, Coverings has partnered with its ambassador – CMKBD Alena Capra – to highlight the top trends and products for the nationwide celebration of tile. Here’s a look at the patterns, colors, sizes and textures that continue to shape the industry:

Tile of Spain, Unicer
Florals & Leaves
With its pop of personality, florals and leaves are a perfect alternative to wallpaper – especially in commercial spaces seeking durability.

As wallpaper and patterns regain popularity, the trend has translated to tile – with striking shapes, complex geometric patterns, pop art, graphics and patterned wood options.
