The 2025 Coverings winner for Artistic Installation goes to Wavetronix Glass Murlas, installed by Angie Re and Unique Mosaics LLC. This project displays an extraordinary mosaic installation showcasing artistic ingenuity, technical mastery, and seamless design integration. Inspired by “Seasons of Our Careers,” the project features relief sculptures, a fully integrated fountain, and a vibrant impressionistic mural. Spanning a 10 foot x 21 foot main wall and a 10 foot x 13 foot vestibule wall, the design required careful coordination to ensure visual harmony across both surfaces. Over 31 colors of stained glass were hand-cut into thousands of mosaic pieces, complemented by kiln-fired glass peaches, apples, and canyon rocks for added depth. Structural challenges — which included concealing fountain piping — were solved with innovative techniques to maintain continuity. The result is a breathtaking fusion of art, engineering, and storytelling in a timeless masterpiece.
